When Movie Stars Collide

In spite of the fact that it starred Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, Righteous Kill is nevertheless languishing at the bottom of box office charts all over the world, proving that Hollywood producers need to assemble more than just stars to make a movie hit. But look through cinema history and there are countless examples of studios combining two big stars and hoping the rest will fall into place. Sometimes it does (the Van-Damme/Lundgren vehicle Universal Soldier somehow succeeds in spite of a terrible script and bad direction, while Stir Crazy is one of the funniest films of the 1980s thanks to Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor's comic genius), but when it doesn't, the results can be painful, as the following go to prove.
