Harbour Lights received some bad reviews which I did not think were warranted. It had an original theme - which was refreshing and was set in an extremely beautiful part of the South Coast.

The characters were plausible - every small town has a Simpson and a Blade family etc. I thought it a pity that so many cast members of the original series were missing.

Perhaps it was more subtle than first appeared because the story's main theme was the emotional detachment Mike had through being abandoned by his Father. The last episode explained this and closed the series well.
