My Dog Skip(Film,2000)

Based on William Morris's memoir, this comedy drama set in 1940s America tells the tale of a lonely boy whose pet dog enables him to make some friends. When the bookish youngster's older neighbour and only ally must leave to fight in the war, the lad's mother persuades his taciturn father to buy the kid a dog.
