    Dear Mr Ross,

    I once watched a film many years ago called Iron Eagle which had the most amazing track of music in the film called Old Enough to rock and roll, to cut a long story short this track was impossible to get hold of until after twenty years of looking I finally managed to find the artist, Rainey Haynes about a month ago on a web site she herself had started two years ago, lots of other people who like myself had been searching for this one track have now finally managed to get of it thanks to her starting her own site, she had a dodgy manager early on in her career who managed to wreck her chances of ever getting a record contract (it's a really choking story, she's insanely talented). I also bought two more of her albums on her site (raineyonline.com) which are just as superb. I really feel that this is a magic subject for a chat show and a talented host such as yourself I think you should even offer to fly her over. We have been chatting by e-mail and have become friends she is inanely good and really sweet I will gladly post some of her music to you if you provide me with an address anything I can possibly do to get her any recognition would be like a dream coming true this is one extraordinary lady. I so hope you take an interest if Steve Dittko was entitled to recognition then why not my friend? yours (an avid fan and religious watcher of Friday night with), Jeff Collins.p.s please help.

    I agree with Gloria Hunnifords recent comments re Ross's obsession with sex and not the person who he is interviewing. My wife says Ross with his silly hair dropping over his face remids her of a small boy behind the bike sheds doing heaven knows what. He is hopeless and not worth £60 per year never mid £6 million.

They are from the Isle of Skye and its sort of celtic trance with bagpipes, Im your age shhhh 46 and I have to say its fantastic.     The thing is that Parkinson was interesting because his guests tended to dictate the nature of the program. Funny, serious or entertaining. This added variety and interest to each week. Jon’s program is about himself. Every week he rehashes the same lines and turns every show into the same thing, often embarrassing the guests, over talking others and overshadowing them all in an attempt to promote himself as the key element. He is getting boring and tedious and I find what was interesting becoming difficult, to watch. It is a program for ‘fans’ of John, about John and the guests seem to take part in a personal and desperate attempt to promote themselves. Evolve or go, or at least credit some of the guests with the distinction they deserve. Let the celebrities be celebrities …..

    Dear Mr Ross

    I continue to enjoy your Friday night show.

    I am writing regarding the teddy bear ‘toy’ which you aired on your show of 7.3.08, having ‘been in a road accident’ and to say that I wholeheartedly agree with the disdain and criticism which you rightly pronounced on the same.

    I have contacted the manufacturers of the so-called toy directly to try to raise their awareness as to the detrimental effect this would have not only in our attitude to the misfortune of animals but also on the development of children’s psychology.

    As an animal lover and parent myself, I think children today are deprived of much of the innocence which I enjoyed as a child but also a sense of wonder for nature around them. Thankfully, there are still responsible organisers/teachers today who seek to correct that but their job is made all the more difficult by irresponsible manufacturers of the so-called toys that were aired on your show.

    It’s no wonder that we hear of animal abuse if people are encouraged to think of such things as humour and I am glad that you denounced the same.

    I hope you continue to use your standing in the media/public eye to promote responsible ideas especially where children and animals are concerned, being the more vulnerable in society to attack both physical and mental.
