Six contestants from around the world, including the UK, take part in an extraordinary mission in the heart of the Zimbabwean bush. Their task is to track, locate and photograph the "Big Five": the elephant, buffalo, rhino, lion and the elusive leopard in order to win the trip of a lifetime.
After splitting into three teams, the competition gets under way with much excitement from the amateur photographers. A close encounter with some grumpy elephants however quickly reminds the contestants that life in the bush is unpredictable and the animals hold the power.
Throughout the competition, the contestants experience the brutal reality of life and death in the wild, including the rare sight of three lions killing a baby elephant. Each challenge brings a roller coaster of emotions, victories and failures as the big prize is all to play for. Amid the epic backdrop of the African skyline, the programme sees the three competitive duos battle it out, in a quest to find not only the Big Five but also the best wildlife photographer.
