This edition features The Crucifixion in The Isenheim Altarpiece by Matthias Grunewald. The altarpiece was painted in Germany in 1515 for the Order of St Anthony, who tended those afflicted with leprosy. Undiscovered for 400 years, it has come to be seen as one of the greatest masterpieces of Christian art.
